We’ve been busy at Scarlett’s Feathers

We’ve been busy at Scarlett’s Feathers… attending rallies and meetings regarding the “paid” parking in the downtown area and the disruptive construction of the round about at Ringling Blvd. and Pineapple Avenue which commenced in the middle of December and is scheduled for completion by the end of April… It seems as if it should have started in April instead.

I was thrilled to see a jacket from my “Embellished Denim Collection” featured on the Shopping Page of the February issue of STYLE MAGAZINE. I am busy working on one-of-a-kind garments for 5 people who saw the article as well as a special project that will be in Art Center Sarasota’s “ICONCEPT”, an outrageous fashion show/ fundraiser that takes place FRIDAY, March 30th. The theme of my entry is “Birds of a Feather” and includes the Hyacinth Macaw feathers that Heidi from Casey Key gave me before she left town for a cooler summer elsewhere. I am thrilled that Pam Marwede and Rod Rodriquez are working with me on this over- the -top fashion statement.

Please stop in to say hello and check out the Fractured Tiles collection by Sally Adams, Art Quilts by Jackie Cory, new works by other artists in the gallery and new pieces in my Embellished Denim Collection.

Scarlett’s Feathers is open from 11-5, Monday-Saturday and from 6-9PM on First Fridays.

A Moment CapturedPlease join us at Scarlett’s Feathers on Thursday, February 2nd, 6-8 PM, for the Opening Reception of “A Moment Captured”, works by Marilyn Rothschild. It is such a treat to connect with her subjects through her sculpture. “Sculpture, for me, is a journey into the mood and spirit of my subjects. I am drawn to the expressiveness of the human face and the grace of the human form.”

The exhibit dates are January 30th- February 24th.

While you are here, check out the new and exciting work in the gallery including mini art quilts by Jackie Cory, art tiles by Sally Adams, hand painted pillows by Pam Marwede and the newest collection of copper earrings by Janet Lutz. I have been busily working on one-of-a-kind hand dyed silk scarves and my one-of-a-kind embellished denim which includes garments that are on display as well as others that I fit and finish to your specifications. These include jackets, coats, vests, skirts, dresses and even some pants. Enjoy the novelty of having something that is yours and yours alone!
