Scarlett’s Feathers Comes to Palm Avenue

Scarlett’s Feathers, a gallery featuring the whimsical work of regional artisans was conceived by its proprietor Betsy Meyer as she woke from a dream. “There I was, drifting in and out of sleep when suddenly, ‘Scarlett’s Feathers’ flashed through my brain. I leaped out of bed and drew a picture of a bird on a scrap of paper and tumbled back to bed. When I woke up the next morning and saw Scarlett with her ridiculously red beak and red painted toenails, I knew I had created the mascot for a gallery!”

Meyer’s dream came true when Scarlett’s Feathers opened on  March 15, 2011.  In addition to the one-of-a-kind fiber Art- to -Wear and embellished denim that she creates, you will find an arresting mix of paper arts, mosaic accent furniture pieces, art dolls, collage art, jewelry, rugs, greeting cards, art pillows and more which are expressions of over- the- top exuberance by a highly imaginative group of artisans.

In addition to an ever-changing assortment of treats, Scarlett’s Feathers showcases area artisans in a monthly “Featured Artist Series”.

Area artists showcased at Scarlett’s Feathers along with Betsy Meyer include Cheryl Martin, Jill Krasner, Janet Lutz, Elizabeth Hillmann, Mimi May, Linda Balas, Lois Mills, Pam Marwede, Ken Hayden, Krys Lieffers, Dillon Koehn, Sally Adams, David Wilson and more.
